Who is Re. punk?
Re. punk is my brainchild. I am Dr. Sabine Seymour. I love freedom, I love tech, and I love a vibrant arts scene – anything cool and aesthetically appealing. But my biggest love is sports. I am an athlete first. But one day I woke up, and I could not walk down the stairs. I’d lost my balance and soon after my entire right side of my body was paralyzed. Two days later, I was unable to walk, and I ended up in a wheelchair. The diagnosis was remitting MS (Multiple Sclerosis).
I regenerated from being in a wheelchair 20 years ago to surfing and skiing big mountains. Re. punk is based on my personal 20-year real world evidence study living with MS.
When I was diagnosed with MS, I was asked by my neurologist to speak at help groups because of my positive attitude, rigor, and success regenerating. Though, I declined. I had experienced many MS patients when I was stationary in the hospital, and I was drained by the negative energy of most patients. At the time I needed positive energy.
But today, after 20 years with MS and an age where I do give a damn – I’m 55 now – I am ready to combine my experience with MS, my never expiring entrepreneurial spirit, my love for outdoor sports and creativity to create a movement.
I want to debunk the notion that having an autoimmune condition ends your life.
